Graduation of Shelter to Soldier Service Dog Trooper

TUSTIN, California (February 01, 2024) Logomark, the 15th rated supplier in ASI’s top 40 Suppliers of 2023, proudly announces the graduation of their 5th sponsored Shelter to Soldier service dog Trooper.

Trooper was paired with Laurie in February 2023, a distinguished US Army veteran who served as a military police officer in Germany. Trooper was paired through Shelter to SoldierTM, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from Southern California rescues and shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST). The program also places emotional support animals with active duty military and veterans, and deploys the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors, a team of certified therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, to provide visits of love and comfort to military, veterans and their families.

Laurie sought a companion that could match her active lifestyle while providing a calming presence. “Trooper has an affectionate and calm demeanor and quickly became a standout participant in our training program.” Kyrie Bloem, Co-Founder of Shelter to SoldierTM shared. “The connection between Laurie and Trooper was instantaneous, from that moment their training journey together began” Bloem added.

The culmination of Laurie and Trooper's journey was celebrated on December 15th, 2023, with a graduation ceremony attended by Clive Goldberg, President of Logomark.

“Logomark is honored to have played a role in facilitating such a meaningful connection and wishes Laurie and Trooper a lifetime of joy and companionship,” stated Goldberg.

Trooper's path from adoption to service dog was made possible through Logomark’s support of  Shelter to Soldier’s Red Star Sponsorship program. This program covers the adoption of a new dog from a local shelter and includes the costs of housing, training, and caring for the service dog trainee throughout a 12-18 month training program at their Oceanside, CA training campus. The program also matches the dog with a veteran in need, provides one-on-one handler training for the matched team, and helps them graduate as a service dog and veteran handler. Logomark is proud to have since sponsored two additional service dogs through the program. Max, a young one year old shepherd adopted from Wags & Walks rescue out of Los Angeles has recently begun handler training with USN Veteran Shaneka. The Shelter to Soldier team is currently searching for an ideal service dog candidate through their rescue network under the second sponsorship from Logomark.

“This give-back program is a cornerstone for what Logomark stands for, and we couldn’t have achieved this without the support of our distributors,” added Goldberg.

The Perka®, iCool® and Work® brands are all official sponsors of Shelter to SoldierTM, and a portion of all proceeds are donated to the organization.
